Google’s DARPA Director Finds a Home at Motorola?

Amid the reports of the Google’s move to cut thousands of jobs at Motorola is the news that they’re also appointing Regina Dugan, a former director of the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), to senior vice president of Motorola’s Advanced Technology and Projects.

According to Technology Review, she is reportedly “hiring metal scientists, acoustics engineers, and artificial intelligence experts,” and Motorola Mobility is intending to reduce the number of phones it produces every year to “just a few” while focusing on “super-long battery life,” improved cameras, and voice recognition.

And for kicks, the video’s a reminder of the mind-blowing/terrifying stuff DARPA routinely funds.
